Iseland Cruises

In front of Mae Phim, there are several islands where, in addition to the turquoise sea, you can get to know the life of turtles and their research, enjoy a picnic, snorkel, swim and, of course, enjoy the sun.

This section gathers more detailed information, e.g. of service providers organizing boat trips and cruises

Ko Man Nai

The sea turtle conservation center is located about half an hour by boat from Mae Phim. Here you have the opportunity to get to know the conservation work of sea turtles.

More information

Nature conservation island Koh Thalu

The nature reserve island of Koh Thalu is also located a short boat ride away from Mae Phim. Here, in addition to admiring the scenery, you can sunbathe, swim and snorkel. You can see some corals and even more colorful fish. The nature conservation fee for foreigners is 300B/person and it is paid in cash upon arrival.

The island can be visited either by private boat or by taking part in organized three-island cruises (see more information below).

Koh Samet

Koh Samet is located a short sea distance from Ban Phe. Here you can enjoy the white sandy beaches, the sun and of course the sea itself. The island has really good restaurant and accommodation services. It can be highly recommended for a southern sun vacation trip from Mae Phim, the only difference is that the travel time to the destination only takes about an hour.

Several ships of different sizes operate regularly on equinoxes between Ban Phe and Koh Samet, link to the schedule website.

Bigger ships are a bit slower than speed boats, but the price is more affordable (around 80B/side) and it's easier to board them.

Speed boats for 10-14 people are a bit faster and they leave practically every quarter of an hour. The price range is 300B/round trip. The last return leaves Koh Samet at 17:00. There is a phone number on the ticket where you can order an earlier pickup. There are many service providers, but by showing the ticket, the port staff will guide you to the right boat.
